AVIX SUITE

Engineering made easy. Decades of manufacturing engineering tradition in a modern package.

Manufacturing & Engineering optimization

In today’s fast-paced and complex world, companies face constant changes and increasing demands on being agile. To stay competitive, businesses must improve efficiency across a range of critical areas from production optimization to product development and engineering productivity. This is where AVIX comes in – Our powerful engineering tool is designed to help companies improve their processes and workflows.

Most companies are to some extent working with lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, SMED, standardized work, line balancing etc. However, the big challenge lies in maintaining high engineering productivity – The administrative and time-consuming task of keeping all processes, data, and documentation organized and updated. With limited resources, this is a challenging task for most engineering departments. Using AVIX, you can both improve your production processes and free up time for your engineering team to focus on important work.

That is why manufacturing companies world-wide uses AVIX for Method- and time studies, Line balancing, FMEA, SMED, Work instructions and DFA. But foremost, because AVIX has helped hundreds of companies improving their processes and methodology.

We call it “production engineering made easy”!

THIS IS THE AVIX SUITE

AVIX is built up of modules of functionality. You can buy one or more modules and expand gradually as the need arises.

AVIX METHOD

Create process mappings and time studies based on videos (optional). Analyze your processes in VA/NVA activities and visualize improvements and potential. Uses the same dataset to generate work instructions directly from AVIX – this becomes the core in your TDM (Time Data Management) activities.

AVIX Resource Balance

Utilize the data from the time study to visualize the line balance in a Yamazumi chart and enables “drag and drop” balancing. Shows the interaction between multiple resources (man-machine) and manages products with multiple custom options/configurations to see how they affect the balance and production mix.

AVIX FMEA

Use AVIX FMEA to perform classic P-FMEA/D-FMEA or adapt to the new AIAG-VDA standard. AVIX links together all your process related data in one central data source (Time study-FMEA-Line balance), making it easier to manage and update.

AVIX SMED

Reduce set-up time and produce more by improving machine changeovers. AVIX SMED makes it simple and easy to analyze the changeover by using video and a timeline visualization of internal and external process steps. All according to the Shigeo Shingo methodology.

AVIX DFX

Improve your product design (Design for Assembly) by analyzing parts and sub-components according to the DFA2 (or similar) methodology. Applying DFA during the design phase will help significantly reducing cost by improving assembly operations, reducing number of parts and the design complexity.

AVIX ERGO

AVIX Ergo helps you improve workplace ergonomics by combining the detailed process analysis in AVIX Method with the acknowledged Borg CR-10 scale or REBA model to determine physiological strain levels at the workplace.

AVIX EXTENSIONS

AVIX Execution Optimizer expands the line balancing features by visualizing and optimizing build schedules/production programs. It also enables reviewing how the order mix affects the balance and utilization of time as well as prognostication of future scenarios (orders to come).

AVIX Shop Floor Viewer takes your AVIX data into the industry 4.0 leap – The Shop Floor Viewer is, as it sounds, a viewer solution to access related AVIX data from the shop floor. It only requires a device with a web browser (phone, tablet etc.) A typical application are digital and interactive work instructions.

AVIX Connector makes it possible to send data to and from AVIX to other production systems such as ERP systems, MES systems etc. AVIX Connector uses a standardized framework to transpose and exchange data with other systems. A typical user case could be importing process steps from a business system or exporting times to a MES system.

AVIX Ergo Balance considers the body’s capabilities and limitations, and combines it with traditional line balancing. This not only improves the line balance, but also reduces the workers risk of disorders and repetitive strain injuries.

Software support

AVIX is a way of collecting all data for e.g. method and time studies, line balancing, work instructions and FMEA in one and the same place. That makes it much easier to administrate and keep the data updated. But foremost, it is a much easier and productive way compared to creating the time study using pen and paper, a work instruction in Word and a BOM in Excel. AVIX can also easily exchange information with other systems using XML-format.

A closed loop of information

The information in AVIX is linked together. Changing the time study for a workstation will immediately affect the line balance and the work instruction. This is a huge advantage since it simplifies the most common problem for engineering departments: Keeping the information updated and correct. If not, there is a big risk that data will become obsolete and outdated, and everyone loses confidence in work instructions and documentation. We call it production engineering made easy!

It's simple!

It is simple! AVIX is well known for being intuitive and easy to use, we know that from hundreds of users. It only takes roughly a day of training to learn the basics in AVIX and get going, but most users actually starts using AVIX just from the experience of a pilot project.

NOTE: Easy means something that’s achieved without effort. Simple means something that’s uncomplicated and easily understood. But it cannot be achieved without effort.

Step 1

Video record the process.

Start by recording a video to capture the process. This video serves as the foundation for subsequent analyses, enabling Method study (standardized work), Line balancing, and the creation of Work instructions (SOP)

Step 2

Line balancing.

Use the already recorded data to streamline and optimize production workflows . Develop a comprehensive work sequence adaptable to various product types and specifications, facilitating efficient line balancing.

Step 3

Create work instruction.

From the structure in AVIX, you can now use the data to generate tailored work instructions (SOP), accommodating varying levels of detail and visual aids. Customized instructions can be produced for each product variant, enhancing operational clarity and effectiveness.
