Finding Clarity in Complexity

An AVIX Customer Story with Inna Traud, Lean Leader at ODW-Elektrik

For Inna Traud, every workday is about learning and improving. Since she started at ODW-Elektrik in 2006, she has taken on a variety of roles—beginning with administrative tasks, moving into production analysis, and later working extensively with time measurement and process optimization. Today, she plays a key role in lean initiatives as a Lean Leader, working across multiple sites to analyze and improve efficiency.

The Challenge

Before using AVIX, process documentation was handled using Excel, video recordings, and traditional lean methods such as value stream mapping. While these provided useful insights, they lacked the precision needed to optimize processes at a micro level.

“Normally, you have to go with rough lean tools to take out the obvious waste. For that, you don’t need video, you don’t need a detailed analysis. It’s like driving a big car over a road full of big stones—you can clear away the biggest obstacles. But when you want to go deeper, when you need to find the micro-motions, then you need something more precise.”

With much of the production involving manual work, even small improvements could make a significant difference. To take process optimization to the next level, a more detailed and structured approach was needed.

The Solution

Inna and her team started using AVIX to gain a deeper understanding of their processes. The ability to break down video recordings into precise time segments revealed inefficiencies that were previously undetectable. Instead of relying on assumptions, every improvement could now be backed by clear, measurable data. “The price of a cable is calculated in minutes. One second per product may not seem like much, but when you produce 70,000 cables per day, that’s 70,000 seconds saved. That is real efficiency.”

With AVIX, process optimization became more transparent and data-driven, allowing for a structured approach to continuous improvement.

The Results

By integrating AVIX into her work, Inna has been able to:

Achieve greater process transparency – Having a structured way to analyze and document processes makes decision-making clearer and based on real data.

Facilitate collaboration across locations – Sharing analyses and findings with colleagues in different sites has enabled improvements to be implemented more effectively.

Identify and optimize manual processes – Breaking down work into smaller steps has led to measurable efficiency gains.

“AVIX is something that connects us. It’s a common language that everyone understands. It doesn’t matter if you speak Spanish, English, Ukrainian, or Hungarian. With AVIX, we all see the same facts, the same numbers. There is no guessing, only real data.”

Lessons Learned

Inna highlights that making the most of AVIX is not just about using the tool but about applying it in the right way.

“If you bring a tool into a company and tell people, ‘This is great, use it,’ they will smile at you and forget about it the next day. But if you work alongside the team, apply it to real processes, and let them discover the benefits themselves, then they will believe in it.”

She also stresses the importance of having a clear goal when working with process improvements—focusing on measurable results and continuously refining the way processes are analyzed.

“You have to see your goal and walk toward it, step by step. Maybe you will face difficulties, maybe you will need to take a step back, but that is normal. Every challenge is a chance to learn and improve. You keep climbing, and in the end, you reach the top.”
